Puente Human Rights Movement (collectively, “we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to the responsible management, use, and protection of your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices in connection with the information that we collect about you, why we collect it, and how we use or disclose it. It also discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices as they relate to donating or purchasing from the Puente Human Rights Movement, using our website (“Site”) and communicating with us online or via mail and telephone.

Puente Human Rights Movement values you as a supporter and works to safeguard your privacy. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. Please note that this Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the Puente Human Rights Movement’s Terms of Use.

Gathering Information
Puente Human Rights Movement collects four kinds of information: Personal information you provide us voluntarily; information collected automatically when you visit our Site; information from publicly available sources; and information third parties share with us and collect on our behalf. We use your information to help us fulfill your donation, carry out our mission effectively, and keep you updated on the latest news, opportunities, and achievements in our work.

In making a donation, should you wish to make your gift using a credit card, this data is encrypted and never saved by Puente Human Rights Movement.

  • register or participate in a Puente Human Rights Movement event;

  • donate to or purchase from Puente Human Rights Movement;

Information Submitted via Webforms
When you submit information to this website via webform, we collect the data requested in the webform in order to track and respond to your submissions. We provide this information to Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us, help us manage our relationship with you, and store the data.

Use of Personal Information
Once you voluntarily supply your information, the way we use your Personal Information may include, but is not limited to:

  • responding to your questions, suggestions, and concerns;

  • providing you with services you request, including event signup;

  • contacting you regarding upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, or other news about our work;

  • processing your credit card information – when you choose to donate to the Puente Human Rights Movement we ask you to voluntarily provide your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information, and other Personal Information you share with us so we can process your donation or purchase, send you a receipt or confirmation, and communicate with you, if necessary.

Financial Information
When you make a contribution to Puente Human Rights Movement through this website, we collect credit card information from you. That information is used solely for processing your contribution; is not maintained by Puente Human Rights Movement; and is never disclosed to anyone, for any other purpose other than for processing your contribution, under any circumstances.

Puente Human Rights Movement uses industry standard security measures to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. All supplied credit card information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment processing provider’s database. Permission to access your information is granted only to you and to Puente Human Rights Movement employees or contractors who need to know that information to provide services to you and who are required to keep the information confidential. Although we make good faith efforts to store information collected by this website in a secure operating environment, we cannot guarantee complete security. Donors who wish not to provide financial information electronically or via online may provide personal financial information by telephone directly to Puente Human Rights Movement.

Information Collected Automatically When You Visit Our Site

Puente Human Rights Movement offers SMS (Short Message Service), messaging through texts to your mobile phone. There is no fee from Puente Human Rights Movement to receive text messages, but message and data rates of your wireless carrier may apply—this can be checked with your mobile service provider.

By opting-in and subscribing to Puente Human Rights Movement’s alerts, you consent to receive automated text messages from Puente Human Rights Movement. By initiating contact with us via SMS to request services, you consent to receive text messages from Puente Human Rights Movement in relation to that request for services. Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile phone number, your wireless carrier’s name and the date, time, and content of your messages. Puente Human Rights Movement may use this information to contact you and provide the SMS services you requested.

Your consent for messaging and your phone number will NOT be shared with third parties. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Payment Transaction Information. If you donate or make a purchase using a credit card, your credit card information is processed by our contracted merchant service Vendors. Puente Human Rights Movement does not retain information about your online payment transactions, but through a Vendor we use, we can access the last four digits of your credit card and transaction information, such as the date and the amount.

List Sharing
We do not share mailing lists or your personal information with other organizations.

Opting-Out
If you do not wish to have Puente Human Rights Movement send you any communications, please contact us by email at contact@puenteaz.org to request to no longer be contacted.

  • Email:  If you provide us with Personal Information through our Site, we give you the opportunity to “opt-out” of receiving electronic communications from us that are unrelated to the specific service for which we requested that information.  For example, if you are providing information to make a donation online, you are given the choice to opt-out of receiving news and alerts from Puente Human Rights Movement in the future.

  • Unsubscribe option: If you would like to stop receiving emails from Puente Human Rights Movement, you may reply to any email received from Puente Human Rights Movement and request to be removed from the contact list.
 

Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13), and we request that these individuals do not provide Personal Information through the Services. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information of users under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent/guardian to do so. Parents/Guardians have the ability to control what, if any, Personal Information about their child may be disclosed to third parties, by regulating the actions and behavior of their children using the internet.

Because of the nature of Puente’s work, some people may choose to share sensitive information with us when requesting support, resources, referrals, or assistance. This may include information related to immigration, family safety, legal needs, health, or other personal circumstances.

We ask that you only share sensitive information when it is necessary for the support or information you are requesting. We take reasonable steps to protect the information shared with us, but we cannot guarantee that email, webforms, phone calls, or text messages are completely secure.

Legal Requirements and Safety
Puente does not voluntarily share personal information with law enforcement or immigration enforcement for marketing, outreach, or unrelated purposes.

We may access, preserve, or disclose personal information only when we believe it is required by law, legal process, subpoena, court order, or when necessary to protect the safety, rights, or security of Puente, our community, or others.

We will take reasonable steps to limit any disclosure to what is legally required or necessary.
