Student Over Surveillance: PXU Board Meeting
Join Puente Youth at the PXU Governing Board Meeting to tell the board to vote NO on more police in our schools.
This Thursday, June 4, the PXU Governing Board will vote on a school safety grant that could bring 15 School Resource Officers into PXU schools.
In June 2023, PXU approved a safety plan with a commitment to phase out SROs. Now, the district is moving backward by expanding policing and surveillance instead of investing in what students actually need.
Students deserve safe schools with real support, not more police. Police will not protect our students from ICE.
Our schools need fully funded counselors, mental health resources, restorative justice programs, and student-led solutions that create real safety and belonging.

With DACA renewal delays, expired work permits, job loss, loss of access to driver’s licenses, loss of active DACA protections, and reports of detentions, it is important for DACA recipients and families to stay informed and prepared.
Now more than ever, DACA recipients need to know their rights, have a plan, and understand what steps they can take to better protect themselves, their loved ones, and strengthen their support systems.
